We come from the business world. We’ve created and managed businesses, been responsible for P&Ls, owned budgets, delivered products, managed people, and dealt with plenty of organizational change. We’ve experienced the pressure to execute critical strategic plans with tight timeframes and high expectations while working hard to keep people engaged and focused to deliver their best efforts.

Educated in organizational theory and with deep knowledge of individual and group dynamics, we understand how and why people and projects can get off track. This distinctive set of competencies enables us to recognize the needs and priorities of multiple disciplines and how they can work together more productively.


Deb Torchia, MSOD – Founder and Principal

Deb Torchia

Deb Torchia is a performance-driven organizational consultant with over 20 years of management experience. Having worked in large, multi-national corporations, mid-tier enterprises, and small, venture-backed start-ups, her career accomplishments include the development of new businesses and functions, defining and executing strategic plans, and successfully leading and motivating cross-functional global teams. She has a comprehensive understanding of organizational change and has been deeply involved in helping organizations through challenging transitions. Her client work has involved organizational restructuring, change management and strategic redirection.

Prior to founding Torchia & Associates, Deb served as vice president of Global Solutions Marketing at CA. Earlier she held senior management positions overseeing product management and product marketing organizations at Kronos, SmartTime and Intellution. Deb has a Master of Science degree in Organization Development (MSOD) from American University with a distinction for her field work. She is active in her community and serves as a member on several town committees.


Steve Gens, MSOD

Steve has over 25 years of global business experience with the majority in the biopharmaceutical and healthcare industries. His early career was spent at Johnson and Johnson and then moved into consulting where he created and managed several multi-million dollar healthcare consulting practices for Booz Allen Hamilton and First Consulting Group. Steve has deep experience in strategy formulation and implementation, global virtual team effectiveness, organization development and performance, industry benchmarking, information management strategy, and leading or facilitating strategic change.

He consults for many of the world’s largest biopharmaceutical companies and also with small high growth organizations that are planning for significant change. Steve has worked with global organizations and specifically global virtual teams for the past 20 years on critical initiatives where results matter. Steve brings a multi-discipline approach of organization development and management consulting methods to his clients’ business challenges. He has a Master of Science in Organization Development with distinction for his field work, and is certificated in Organizational Change Management from the NTL Institute of Applied Behavior. His undergraduate degree is in Business Computer Science.
